West Loop Real Estate
Between Ashland Avenue east to the Kennedy Expressway, from Madison Street north up to Grand Avenue, the West Loop is part of the Near West Side, just west of the Loop.
Close to the downtown area and easily accessible to public transportation, the West Loop is an ideal location for many reasons. In addition to a mix of warehouses, galleries, lofts, restaurant and clubs, the West Loop is host to the United Center, home of both the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Merit School of Music, one of the country’s premier community music centers, is located just off of Madison Street, and the West Loop Community Organization brings together residents and business owners and provides information on the goings-on for this eclectic neighborhood.
West Loop Real Estate Prices
Though you will find a lot of lofts converted from factories and warehouses in the West Loop, there are also many new condo units. One bedrooms usually start around the mid-200s and two bedrooms generally come in at the mid-300s. The West Loop is very close to the downtown area, but the prices are a lot more affordable compared to lakefront properties.
