school. Known for its lakefront, parks, trails and beaches (including a dog
beach and a sailing beach) Wilmette abounds
with outdoor activities. The park district offers a number of programs,
including ice skating, tennis and seasonal workshops and special events.
One of Wilmette’s
most famous landmarks is a Bahá'í House of Worship, named in 2007 as one of
the Seven Wonders of Illinois by the Illinois Bureau of Tourism.
